Line Dry, Ruffled

The weather has been terrible. I usually try to look for interesting things to focus on even in the rain, but it has been a marathon of gloomy days. I guess the thought of our departure next week weighs heavy on my mind, too. So, I have to resort to looking through old photos from brighter days.  Look at these damp birds lined up in the sun... they're hilarious.

Line dry ... or pretend to be a dragon boat

Center bird:  Look at me, look at how gorgeous I am!

Birds on both sides:  Huh! Whatever!

Moving Force

Racing Front - the cloud front overhead inspired an awesome, urgent feeling for the strip of blue sky ahead.

Swirl
 - constant wind was likely the real cause of the slanted growth of the trees,
but the bend of the road echos the form of the clouds above.
Don't the trees don't like they are about to be sucked into the vortex above?

How often do we travel and miss the breathtaking phenomena above us!  My love of the sky is beyond sunny days.

More Giant Pizza Pie in the Sky

A few more shots of the supermoon...  We didn't bring a tripod to Melbourne, so the shots are actually a little blurry if you zoom in. Still, we are pretty happy with the results from my husband's freehand attempts. (I'm hopeless at freehand far shots, plus the camera ran out of battery came my turn, it's not an excuse... :-) )

Are the last two eerie enough to be for a vampire/werewolf/ghost movie?

Supermoon

Joining the flood of images of the supermoon, here are our ones from Melbourne. It was overcast most of the time and cold on the balcony, but it was well worth it. This baby was definitely not something I could be content with just staring at it through the window.

Warning! Amateur photography, and no tripod.

Supermoon 2012

Spooky supermoon through the clouds.

It was so bright even through the clouds. Werewolves wouldn't have a chance of dodging this one. I wonder how the cats behaved last night.
